Crissy Nordin (she/her/hers) is a Chicago-area native with nine years of experience in performing arts education and creative producing. In 2018, she was awarded a graduate assistantship to attend Columbia College Chicago to pursue a master’s degree in arts, entertainment and media management.
During her time at Columbia, she was the casting and producing intern at Victory Gardens Theater, served as the graduate representative for the Year of Chicago Theatre, co-produced the inaugural, sold-out Third Mask Festival at CCC, and worked as a teaching artist in Chicago Public Schools. Currently, Crissy is a freelance creative producer and consultant working with arts organizations and individual artists.
For seven years prior, Crissy was the director of choirs at O’Fallon Township High School, and led an array of educational and extracurricular ensembles. She also created and managed several large fundraisers that provided tens of thousands of dollars annually for the school’s performing arts program. Her ensembles have performed in venues all over the country, Carnegie Hall among them. Additionally, Crissy produced and directed the school’s musical theater productions which were recognized for their excellence, including special recognition awarded by the St. Louis High School Musical Theater Awards. Crissy was also invited to present to fellow educators at the Illinois Music Education Conference in 2013 and 2018.
She received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Millikin University, and is a trained conductor, vocalist, bassist, and pianist. At Millikin, Crissy won the school’s annual concerto competition and sang with the renowned Millikin University Choir and One Voice vocal jazz ensemble.
While Crissy loves advocating for the arts (and all things Disney), there is nothing on earth she loves more than her wife and two daughters.
